LOGIN MICROSOFT ONEDRIVE WINDOWS 8.1
When I installed Windows 8.1 I skipped the "Create a Microsoft Account" Section of the setup. I am currently only using Windows 8.1 on one machine and it is my desktop.Ģ. Some of this information might be irrelevant but I have learned more information is better than less when troubleshooting a problem.ġ. Let me kind of set the stage just in case it helps someone else out. So I have had what may be a breakthrough on this. Hopefully, and it sounds like there is some, it appears that there are some plans by MS to make it more seamless, in the future. The reason I'm so cynical is because there's a lot of user training/involvement,buy-in to make it work, and that's always an issue. They just wouldn't use the OneDrive client like you have been from home.

That being said, once a person did have a OD4B account set up, and files uploaded, etc., they can just log into from wherever and they'll have full access to those files. I can't elaborate right now, and sorry for the downer answer, but it's been pretty much a pain. We've been trying to incorporate OD4B for quite a while it's not pretty. OneDrive is a standalone download, and OD4B is installed with Office 2013, and automatically links your domain account to the OD4B account. That's why it's spectacularly confusingly termed "OneDrive", and "OneDrive for Business".

And someone's welcome to correct me, god knows I'd like a different answer.īut it's my experience, say, in just the last few weeks, that you're absolutely correct that the MS and O365 accounts are totally different. Jeff Moore wrote:So, is there a way to use OneDrive for business on a domain computer in the same way I use my personal OneDrive account at home? Sorry if anything is unclear as it is all kind of unclear to me as well. So, is there a way to use OneDrive for business on a domain computer in the same way I use my personal OneDrive account at home? Since this IS NOT the same as the O365 account then I have to assume that the OneDrive storage that would be used in the app would be different than that available under the O365 account which would be counter-productive. For the built-in OneDrive app to work you have to connect a Microsoft Account to your domain account. A Microsoft account and an O365 account are different. It looks like I can not do that in this case because the user does not have a Microsoft account and even then the Microsoft account would not be associated with the O365 account and its associated OneDrive storage. What I am used to is OneDrive at home where I can save files directly into OneDrive or I can open up OneDrive through the taskbar icon. The user is not currently using the O365 account for email as that service along with our domain is still with the local provider. They have Office 365 running and everything is going fine. I have Windows 8.1 running and the user is logged in with their domain account.

What I am having trouble understanding is how to get OneDrive working on Windows 8.1 with a domain account.

If an Answer is helpful, please click "Accept Answer" and upvote it. You could try to contact the administrator to check. Maybe this has been disabled by the administrator of your organization. If yes, uninstall OneDrive on your computer then reinstall it. If you can sign into OneDrive for web, please try to Reset OneDrive, then go to Windows Settings>Accounts>Access work or school>Disconnect the account, in the search bar, type Credential Manager and open it, delete the credentials related to the account, then restart your PC and set up OneDrive.Ĭan you sign into OneDrive with this account on another computer?
